10 Minute Recipes - Garlic Cheese Pasta

We've all been in that situation we hate. In the 9th hour of a Smash Brothers Brawl, or Halo 3 session when Mr. hunger comes knocking on our stomach lining like an angry husband returning from a deadly salmon run to find you sleeping with his wife.

Ok, so analogies and exagerations aside, you need food NOW, and since you're not Bill Gates (and if you are, shame on you for playing Wii all night), you also want it cheap.

Two Bit News Chefs to the rescue! We'll be dropping some delicious and insanely easy to make while still gaming foods that'll keep both you and your wallet full.

Today's Recipe is Garlic Pasta With Cheese:

Prep Time: 2 minutes (1 load screen, or 1/10th of a load screen if it's Devil May Cry)

Cook Time: 8 minutes (One 5 Kill Deathmatch after you've been fragged first)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. spaghetti pasta ($1)
  • 5 Tbsp. olive oil (<$1)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced ($1), if you're really cheap or in an even bigger hurry, substitute dry garlic or garlic powder.
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley (<$1) or throw in some green onions.
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 cup grated Romano or Parmesan cheese (<$1)

Total cost: About $3, serves 2 hungry gamers, 4 normal people

Preparation:

Boil some water,
which should take about as long as it takes you to clear to world 7 in Super Mario Bros. 3, you geek!.

Throw the pasta in, and let it cook until soft, approximately 5 Soul Calibur matches.

Meanwhile, chop the garlic and parsley and saute the garlic in the olive oil until lightly brown, or about 1 turn in Mario Party.

While stirring add the garlic and parsley mixture into the pasta, and top with Parmesan Cheese. Also feel free to throw it back on the heat and melt some mozzarella on it if you really like it super cheesy! Which, let's be honest, we know you do.
