News from Yahoo! is that 75 students were arrested for dealing cocaine and other drugs. One went so far as to send a mass text message advertising this.
Thats all well and good, but one thing they forgot to mention: How can we blame video games for this?
The obvious thought is Grand Theft Auto 4, a game full of the promotion of violence and drugs, but let's not stop there. Following is a look at a few other ways we can pin this one on video games!
To do so I present an argument with myself:
* Clearly this is due to the popularity of games like Rockband and Guitar Hero 3 and the drug-infused rock star life they glamorize!
* I disagree..with...me, this is most certainly the fault of Super Mario Galaxy. Unless you're as naive as a Final Fantasy hero just waking up at the start of the story, theres no way you can look past the soaring through colorful worlds on floating planets in outerspace. Of course, we all know the Mushroom drug references that have come up over the years.
* Once again myself, I contest your statement. I think that this is the fault of billionaire playboy, Mr. Tony Starks and his role in the Iron Man video game. Or should I say, Iron, maaaaan. That guy is a poster child for drug and alcohol abuse. Not to mention the horrid quality of yet another movie turned video game is enough to drive anyone to drugs.
* Au Contraire idiot author, all of we are mistaken! This is clearly the devious work of The Orange Box! What comes in an orange box? I'll tell you what, drugs and video games! Well, then again, I suppose it could be Orange Box could be code for Britney Spears' vagina after a fake tanning session. (get it? tanning stuff makes you orange? sigh.)
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to disagree to agree to disagree with myself and just take comfort in the fact that somehow, somewhere, someway, a politician will blame this on Video Games.
